Guest of Honour - Keith Zenda
The function at Dominican Convent High School was a resounding success, bringing together students, teachers, and families for a memorable evening of celebration. Although the weather was slightly cool, the atmosphere was warm and joyful as guests gathered outdoors to honour the outstanding achievements of both Primary and Secondary School students in the field of visual art.
The evening opened with welcoming remarks, followed by a lively and uplifting performance from the school’s music group. Their jazzy number brought fresh energy to the evening, setting a cheerful and relaxed tone that made the celebration even more enjoyable for everyone present.
Following this vibrant musical interlude, the audience was introduced to renowned Zimbabwean artist Keith Zenda, who had been invited as the guest of honour. In his speech, Mr Zenda congratulated the students on their dedication to the arts and praised the quality and creativity of their work. He encouraged them to keep expressing themselves through art and to remain curious and open in their artistic journey.
After the speeches, students were called up to receive their art certificate awards from the School Principals, their teachers, and Mr Zenda himself. Each certificate marked a proud moment of recognition for their artistic efforts and growth.
The formal programme was followed by a relaxed gathering, where guests enjoyed music, soft drinks, and snacks in a warm and celebratory atmosphere.
Keith Zenda later commented on the talent and promise he saw in the students, expressing his hope to meet some of these young artists again in the future.
Congratulations once again to all the students for their well-earned recognition!
