Spotlight: Keith Zenda, Raphael Chikukwa, and Zimbabwean Art’s Global Journey

The intersection of Keith Zenda’s artistic contributions, Raphael Chikukwa’s leadership, and Swiss-Zim Heritage’s mission form the cornerstone of Zimbabwean art’s rise to international prominence. Zenda’s portrait of King Charles III for the UK Embassy, alongside his painting "The Stone City" in the office of the President of China, exemplifies art as cultural diplomacy. Chikukwa’s curation at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe, and his founding of the Zimbabwe Pavilion at the Venice Biennale, have elevated the visibility of local artists globally. Together, these achievements spotlight the collaboration between Zimbabwean artists, Swiss-Zim Heritage Gallery, and the global art community.
